How lively is Honda Livo?
110cc segment to gain momentum again!
The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer- Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has recently introduced a commuter bike named Honda Livo as a replacement for existing CB Twister which has not managed to impress the Indian customers as per company’s expectation.
The 110cc segment in bikes is a niche segment and there are not many bikes to compare to. However, we feel that the biggest and most popular opponent of this bike would be Hero Passion XPRO. Hence, we have compared these two bikes exclusively for our readers.
Engine comparison- Honda Livo vs Hero Passion XPRO:
Both these bikes are powered by single cylinder air cooled engines of 110cc capacity making them suitable for daily commute. A quick look on the power and torque values shows that the engine of Hero Passion XPRO which employs APDV technology, manages to churn out little higher power and torque than the engine of Honda Livo which is accoutred with Honda Eco Technology(HET).

The belly of Passion XPRO is bigger by a litre i.e. 9.5 Litre compared to 8.5 Litre of Honda Livo. The higher capacity fuel tank is always useful for longer journeys. As specified by the manufacturer, Honda Livo delivers a handsome mileage of 74kmpl. However, due to the lack of fuel economy figure of Passion XPRO, it could not be compared.

In terms of the wheelbase, Livo is superior to its rival Passion XPRO with an excess of 20mm of wheelbase. The longer wheelbase helps in achieving a better ride and hence is preferred by many consumers. Similarly, it also has a higher ground clearance (10mm more). Considering the road condition in India, even an mm will make a difference.
In addition, the top variant of Livo is lighter than Passion XPRO by 5 kgs (Kerb Weights- Livo: 111kg & Passion XPRO: 116kg) making it fuel efficient and easy to handle.
Tyres- Honda Livo vs Hero Passion XPRO:
Alloy wheels and Tubeless tyres are a standard feature on Honda Livo while Passion XPRO offers the options of steel rim and tubed tyres in addition to alloy wheels and tubeless tyres.

As seen in the diagram, in terms of suspension and brakes, both the bikes offer almost identical configuration.
Price- Honda Livo vs Hero Passion XPRO:
The price tag of Passion XPRO is lighter compared to that of Livo giving it a clear advantage.
Base on the above information, we conclude that both the bikes are very close to each other in terms of configuration and so the choice would be more likely governed by users’ budget!
