Both the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are a brilliant mix of the retro design from the Ferrari’s of the 1950s and modern-day technology. These cars are purely aimed at the car collectors and dedicated clients. The cars like 750 Monza and 850 Monza had numerous victories in the sports car championships in the 1950s. These cars also helped to build the future of Ferrari. So, to continue the legacy, Ferrari brought back the old design with new technology.

Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 design

The design center at Ferrari crafted very pure design. The entire design looks like single pencil stroke. These cars avoid the complex design language of modern-day racing cars. Instead, they use formal design language which makes them more elegant. The cars highlight the symbiotic relationship between human and automobile.

Furthermore, the car is entirely made up of carbon fiber. The car’s compact doors open upwards, giving more radical looks. The distinctive head-lights and tail-lights enhance the exclusive design. The complete absence of windscreen and roof gives designers room for more creativity than ever before.

In addition, the use of lightweight carbon fiber for interiors brings more sporty looks and gives the feeling of completeness. The Ferrari Monza SP1 is a single-seater. It delivers more thrilling experience as a sports car. However, the Monza SP2 is a two-seater sports car. It comes with additional second protective screen and roll-bar which allows the passenger to experience the same driving sensations.

Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 specifications

The Monza SP1 and SP2 are equipped with a 6496cc V12 engine. The max power output of the car is 596 kW at 8500 rpm while torque is 719Nm at 7000rpm. The dry weight of SP1 is 1500kg while that of the SP2 is 1520kg. The car can achieve a maximum speed greater than 300km/h.  It can go 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 features

The lightweight with Barchetta configuration of SP1 and SP2 gives unique dynamics to the car. This also enhances handling of the car at high speed. The absence of front windshield results in the wind blast at the driver. Furthermore, in order to solve the problem of windblast, the car has a virtual windshield. The virtual windshield is placed in the fairing in front of the instrument panel and steering wheel. The virtual windshield deviates the airflow and enhances driver comfort.

In conclusion, the Ferrari is refreshing its legendary history by recreating the old models with new technology.
