For – It is for excellent pick-up & superior mileage. By – Mahindra Centuro, Pantero
How MCi5 works:
Furthermore, the MCi-5 Engine features in Mahindra Centuro & Pantero bikes. Mahindra developed this engine technology in-house. Mahindra claims that it smartly balances engine power and fuel economy. It is, basically, an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) controlled engine. And various sensors support it.
The ECU provides the engine with five different ignition curves. Or in other words, ignition timing angles give timing advance options. The ECU intelligently controls the ignition angle (advance) of the engine. It does so by implementing the five predetermined values (curves).
According to Mahindra, the MCi5 engine adjusts itself to give excellent pick-up on slopes. It also adapts to better mileage on flat roads. Thus, it results in fewer gear shifts while riding. Besides, the system also adjusts the engine performance according to road conditions.
However, the benefits of adjusting the engine performance according to the road conditions are excellent. Thus, it results in better power delivery and fuel efficiency, as claimed by Mahindra.
