Yamaha Launches New 125cc Bike – Saluto 125 in India:

On 17 April, Yamaha Motor India launched its newest commuter bike - the Saluto 125 in India with an affordable price tag of Rs.52,000, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Saluto 125 which measures 2035mm in length, 1080mm in height; is 700mm wide with a wheelbase of 1265mm. Weighing just 112 kg, Saluto 125 is the lightest motorcycle in the premium commuter segment which increases its fuel efficiency by 10 per-cent as claimed by Yamaha. The Saluto 125 has a higher ground clearance of 180 mm. It has a muscular fuel tank (capacity: 7.6 litres) with new graphics. The Saluto 125 will take on the Bajaj Discover 125, Honda CB Shine, Suzuki Slingshot Plus & TVS Phoenix 125 in the premium commuter segment.

The Saluto 125 is powered by a newly designed single-cylinder, SOHC, 125 cc light-weight engine with a more compact combustion chamber; based on Yamaha’s 'Blue Core technology'. The engine churns out 8.2bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 10.1Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox and can deliver an impressive mileage of 78 kmpl, as claimed by Yamaha.

The front of the Saluto 125 is supported by telescopic forks while it has a swing-arm as the rear suspension. Front cowl is fitted with an aerodynamic wind screen to reduce wind resistance and give Saluto a bit sporty look. The Saluto 125 also provides an electric start, alloy wheels and the longest seat in the class, but comes without disc brakes.
