Triumph Launches Scrambler 1200 XC in India:
UK based Triumph recently launched the 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC in India. The adventure bike gets all the tech of an off-roader, with new-age classic styling. The motorcycle commands a price-tag of Rs. 10.73 lakh. Triumph launched the new Scrambler 1200 globally in two variants - the Scrambler 1200 XC and the top-end Scrambler 1200 XE which is a bit more extreme. However, Triumph brought only the Scrambler 1200 XC to India. Scrambler gets the top-end hardware necessary for an off-road bike. However, it uses the same 1,200cc engine from the Thruxton with different state of tune.
Engine & Power:
The Scrambler 1200 XC derives its engine from the Thruxton, but with a different state of tune. The Scrambler makes a little less power of 90ps at 7,400rpm and torque of 110Nm at 3,950rpm than the Thruxton. However, Triumph claims that it tuned this engine for strong low and mid-range performance. Triumph tweaked the final drive ratio while keeping the same 6-speed gearbox. A slipper and assist clutch, switchable traction control and ABS are standard.
2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC Suspension and Brakes:
The 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC features a new double-cradle chassis. It gets wire-spoke 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with tubeless tires. A 45mm fully adjustable Showa USD fork and a set of fully adjustable Ohlins dual shocks at the rear carry out the suspension duties. Both these have very remarkable suspension travel of 200mm. Braking technology consists of 320 mm twin discs and a Brembo M50 four-piston caliper at the front and a dual-piston Brembo with a single disc at the rear. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC weighs 205 kg (dry weight). However, with lower seat height and, a lighter front end, the Scrambler 1200 XC can handle easier.
2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC offers 2nd-generation TFT instruments. Besides, the motorcycle also offers five riding modes which are - Rain, Road, Off Road, Sport, and Rider. The Scrambler 1200 XC also gets full-LED headlight with DRL and illuminated backlit switches. The motorcycle features keyless ignition, single-button cruise control, USB charging, and animmobilizer.
There is also a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The optional Bluetooth connectivity offers smartphone connectivity, and turn by turn navigation. Besides, you can also control your GoPro from the switches on the handlebar. First major service of the new Scrambler 1200 XC comes at 16,000 km.
Competition with 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC:
In India, the new Scrambler 1200 XC will take on the likes of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 and the BMW R Nine T Scrambler.
