About Tata Harrier:
Tata Motors is India’s most reputed automotive brand. The company is looking to capture the prestigious premium SUV segment with its upcoming car the Tata Harrier. Tata Motors is already conducting the road tests of its latest SUV the Harrier around Pimpri-Chinchwad City, where it is currently being developed. Targeting the lucrative premium SUV segment, Tata Motors will launch Harrier to take on the likes of Jeep Compass.
Design & Styling:
The Tata Harrier is the first Tata product designed using the Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. Nevertheless, the Harrier shares its platform with the Tata Group-owned Land Rover Freelander. The interior design of the Harrier is completely different from any other cars of Tata Motors. This is because the Tata Harrier gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and also new instrument cluster. We guess the quality of materials used inside the cabin will be of premium quality. The Harrier will get new OMEGA platform, which will be the base for all models above 4.3 meters in length. This platform is actually the Jaguar Land Rover D8 platform.
However, Tata Motors carried out a lot of changes to this platform to make it more reasonable as compared to the JLR. Tata Motors continues to use the same design theme of H5X concept shown at the 2018 Auto Expo. The new car gets LED headlamps and LED tail lamps at the rear. Besides, it has three individual lamps at the rear. Of these, one is for the indicators, one for the brake lights. The last one for the reverse lights which merge into the tailgate. The Harrier also comes with a new muscular bumper and big wheel arches at the front. The rear end gets new bumper along with integrated spoiler.
Tata Motors will pack the Harrier with hordes of features such as the touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather seats, cruise control, push-button start, climate control, keyless entry, automatic headlamps and more. The production model is likely to have 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels. The quarter panel glass of the car merges with the rear glass. Thus, it gives a wrap-around effect. Generally, this design will appeal to most people.
Tata Harrier Engine & Power:
The Harrier will get its power from the FCA sourced 2.0L engine; producing 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. This car is likely to get a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission with various driving modes. You can expect Tata Motors to launch the Tata Harrier in early 2019.
