India’s most reputed brand Tata Motors is gearing up to squeeze further the already crowded Indian Auto Market with its upcoming model the Tata Bolt premium hatchback. Tata Motors is conducting road tests of its debutant model the Bolt in and around Pune City, where it is currently being developed. These are a few spy pics of Tata Bolt taken recently when it was on a test-run. Targeting the lucrative premium hatchback segment; Tata Motors will launch Bolt to take on the likes of Maruti-Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and Hyundai Grand i10.
The new Tata Bolt’s appearance and exterior styling has influences of its sibling Vista. The front grill looks similar to that of Vista and will get a chrome lip. The crease lines from front fender to the ‘C’ pillar could be visible even-though the test vehicle being camouflaged. The shorter tail-lights have, however, moved to the bottom half of the ‘C’ pillar and look quite distinct. The tail-gate will also get a thick chrome lip above the rear number plate. The instrument dials are blue in colour. The rear looks quite big and hence internally; the Bolt could be characteristically spacious just as the trademark of any Tata car.
Tata Bolt Engine:
The Bolt will be powered by the 90PS 1.2L MPFi Revotron Turbocharged petrol engine with ‘Multi-Drive Mode’ that balances performance and fuel efficiency with three unique options namely – the Sport, City and Eco. The ‘Sport’ mode provides an intelligent burst of power, the ‘City’ mode provides balance of power and mileage and the ‘Eco’ mode provides maximum fuel efficiency. The diesel Bolt will get the 1.3L Quadrajet Turbocharged diesel engine pumping out 75PS at 5,000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1,750-3,500rpm.
