Piaggio Launches Aprilia SR 150 in India for Rs.65,000/-

The crossover 'Aprilia SR 150' crosses over to India:

Italian premium brand of motorcycles, Aprilia, recently launched the Aprilia SR 150 in the Indian market. The parent company Piaggio will manufacture this crossover scooter at Baramati in Maharashtra. The SR 150 comes with a price-tag of Rs. 65,000/-.

Piaggio will sell the scooter thru’ all the Piaggio (Vespa) dealerships in India and Aprilia’s Motoplex network across Pune, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad. You can also pre-book the Aprilia SR 150 through PayTm.com.



Aprilia SR 150 Engine:

The Aprilia SR 150 has a single cylinder 154.4cc SOHC air-cooled engine which delivers 11.39 bhp power and 11.5 Nm torque. The scooter features a CVT transmission which transmits the power to the rear wheel.

SR 150 Styling:

Aprilia claims that SR 150 has an aggressive and aerodynamic design that is inspired by the RSV1000 R Factory bike. The SR 150's rigid steel frame provides better manoeuvrability as well as offers the best technology and safety for the sports scooter, as claimed by Aprilia.

The SR 150 has a beaky front apron embedded with twin headlights which give it a sporty look. Furthermore, the scooter is equipped with a distinct handlebar with integrated turn-indicators. The scooter also incorporates a twin-pod analogue unit for the speedometer, fuel gauge, the odometer and indicators for the tell-tale lights.

SR 150 Suspension and Brakes:

Disc brake of 220mm at front while drum brake of 240mm size at rear carry out braking duties on SR 150. SR 150's suspension features a telescopic fork at front and a mono-shock at rear. The scooter runs on 14” alloy wheels with 120/70 tyres, which are bigger and wider than others in its class. The scooter has a fuel tank with a capacity of 7 liters.

With Aprilia SR 150, Piaggio is looking forward to create a new category of crossover bikes by tapping the younger generation of bike enthusiasts in India.
