The Japanese carmaker Nissan has announced a recall of approximately 9000 vehicles which consists of its popular hatchback Micra and sedan Sunny. As notified by the company, the reason behind this recall is to rectify the faulty inflator in the airbag mechanism which may lead to failure of airbag system. Corrosion is observed to be the most dominating cause of such system failures.
The dealers of Nissan throughout India will replace the defective part of the affected vehicles free of charge. The company will soon inform the owners of the affected vehicles. This recall activity will be carried out in Japan, China and Europe also.
