Tata Motors has launched the next generation of its small wonder ‘Nano’ – the Nano GenX ‘Easy-Shift‘ under the extended Nano family in India. Developed as a smart city-car, Tata Motors has loaded the Nano GenX with heaps of features to attract the young and first-time buyers in India. The Nano GenX will take on Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 AGS.
Tata Nano GenX Price:
Tata Motors had officially opened booking for GenX on its website a few days back. Tata Motors has now priced the Nano GenX smartly; keeping it under the psychological barrier of Rs. 2 lakh for base model. The price starts at Rs. 1,99,000/- Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) for the base variant XE, while the top end XTA is priced at Rs. 2,89,000/- (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
The main attractions of the Nano GenX are the ‘Openable’ rear boot and ‘Easy-Shift’ (Automated Manual Transmission) with Sports mode, making it the most-affordable automatic car in India. The Nano GenX is powered by the same twin cylinder, 624cc, MPFi petrol engine churning out 38PS of power and 51Nm of torque; which also drives the other Nano siblings.
The XE, XM & XT variants get the earlier 4-speed manual gearbox, whereas XMA & XTA variants get 5-speed AMT. However, Nano GenX Easy-Shift automatic with 24L fuel tank offers an ARAI certified mileage of 21.9 Km/L+, whereas with manual gearbox it gives 23.60 Km/L; as claimed by Tata Motors. The Nano GenX has an impressive ground clearance of 180mm – just like an SUV, keeping in mind the rural & semi-urban road conditions in India.
