Volkswagen gears up for festive season in India
Anticipating the sharp rise in the car sales throughout the country ahead of the festive season, the German auto giant Volkswagen has launched face-lifted version of its sedan Vento entitled as New Vento, in India on 24th September 2014. In addition to the cosmetic changes, New Vento also manifests a major change in the engine and driveline thereby bringing into sight the new horizon of vast potential in the prospective market of automatic diesel sedans in C segment in India; to the company.
While describing company’s aggressive strategy in the future, Mr Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Group India (Passenger Cars) said “The company plans to expand its product portfolio in the Indian market and may roll out one product every year including an SUV over the next few years.” at the launch function.
Engine & Transmission:

New Vento is powered by a four cylinder in line, 1.5 Litre (Exact capacity: 1498 cc) TDI engine which is capable of producing 105 PS of power @ 4400 rpm and the torque output is 250 Nm @ 1500 – 2500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 7 speed Dual shift Gearbox. Both these features are offered on New Vento for the first time. None the less, New Vento delivers an impressive fuel economy of 21.21 kmpl as claimed by the company.

Exterior:
The fine-tuned exterior styling of New Vento makes it look even more bold and streamlined than before. New dual beam halogen headlamps and modified front bumper improve the overall getup of the vehicle. Even the minor modifications like body coloured door handles and side mirrors have further enhanced the luxury feel of New Vento.
Safety features:
The safety equipments like Dual airbags at front, ABS and Three point seatbelts are available as a part of standard fitment on New Vento making it even safer than its predecessors.

New Vento bears a price tag of Rs. 10.49 lakhs to Rs. 10.94 lakhs ex-showroom Mumbai.
