Hyundai Santro 2018: The Real Game Changer
Hyundai, one of the most anticipated South Korean car manufacturer, came up with the news recently. They are interested to bring a new car which fits between its low selling Eon and most selling i10. And, we think it could be nothing but revamped Santro. The Hyundai Santro 2018 is coming in second half of 2018. Although, there is no confirmation about the name of the model.
The Story of Hyundai’s journey In India:
Initially, Hyundai was really able to penetrate the Indian market with only one car which is Santro. Santro has become most popular among Indian middle class families since 2000. Its affordability and reliability clicked among Indian buyers and this make Hyundai to succeed in India. With this car, Hyundai is able to expand its footprint across India.
Hyundai Santro 2018 is coming back:
There is a demand for new Santro from the existing owners of the car from a long time. Finally, Hyundai India MD YK Koo announced they are working on a small compact car. This car will place itself between the Eon and the i10. He also mentioned that the car will have a contemporary design.
The new car seems to be targeted to families. Mostly likely, it will be launched after mid 2018. The car is assumed to be bigger and wider than the existing Santro. The project is codenamed AH2. This project typically aims to revive the segment with features that are never seen before in that segment.
The new car will feature a 1.2 litre petrol engine with five speed manual transmission. AMT will also be an option. This car will be built on completely revamped Grand i10 platform. The engine will produce 84BHP horsepower and 114Nm of raw torque.
Hyundai will also try to make the car more spacious by increasing its size. Hyundai may implement the ‘fluidic design’ concept in this car as well. This will make this car more attractive. Hyundai is known for giving lots of features at an unbelievable price point and this car will not be an exception.
