Mercedes S600 Guard : Safest of The Safe

Armoured luxury car Mercedes-Benz S-Class S600 Guard is set to provide highest level of protection for India's VVIPs...!!!

The top luxury car-maker Mercedes-Benz has launched its latest car, the Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard in India. The S600 Guard is a fully armoured grand limousine and comes at a hefty price-tag of Rs.8.9 Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). S600 Guard is Mercedes' third armoured car being offered in India after the E-Guard and M-Guard.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard, which is based on the current generation S-Class aka the S-Class Pullman, offers a high level of protection for its occupants. The outer body shell of the Pullman S-Class is equipped with VR9-level ballistic protection as per the BRV 2009 regulations. This regulation is considered as the highest rating ever offered in a civilian passenger armoured car. The S600 Guard will take on the 'crème-de-la crème' models - like the BMW 7-Series 760li-Security Edition, which is currently serving the Prime Minister of India Mr, Narendra Modi.

S600 Guard Powertrain:

The fully armoured Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard is powered by a powerful 6.0-litre, V12 petrol engine that delivers maximum power of 545.5 bhp and 830Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to the 7-speed G-TRONIC automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels through the 4MATIC system. The S600 has been electronically limited with a top speed of 210 km/h, as the vehicle cannot run fast due to its heavy weight. The Mercedes Benz has also offered stiffer AIRMATIC suspension along with reinforced dampers.

S600 Guard Safety Features:

The Guard also features a protective compound made of special steel in various hallow space in the vehicle’s body frame and outer body shell. With Michelin PAX run-flat tyres with an additional tyre pressure monitoring system,  the car can run upto 30 kms if attacked. The car also has advanced safety features such as the heat-resistance synthetic fibres, an automatic fire suspension system and an emergency fresh air system during any smoke or fire and hydraulically actuated side windows. Due to its heavy weight, the windows are operated with the help of the hydraulic system. In addition, the window glass of the S600 is laminated with polycarbonate coating for added safety of the passengers during gun fire. Likewise, the chassis of the Guard is also fully equipped with all the safety features to save occupants from any explosive devices.

S600 Guard Special Features:

The Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard cabin gives an optional seating arrangement for four or five occupants including the executive seat in the rear, leg rest, seat heating and also the energising massage function. Besides, the S600 Guard also features all the standard safety and luxury features that are being offered in the current generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the country.
