Luxury Cars – Mercedes CLS 250 CDI, E400 Launched in India:
The top German luxury car-maker Mercedes Benz’s ambitious plan to launch 15 cars in 2015 is already under way. Mercedes Benz has launched two new luxury cars, the CLS 250 CDI Coupe and E-Class Cabriolet E400, priced at Rs 76.50 lakh and Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively in India. Both the cars are being brought to India as CBUs Completely Built Units.
Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, Eberhard Kern, said, “This year we have already introduced a diverse range of cars for the Indian market which will fascinate and delight customers. India will also be receiving the Mercedes app for the first time to cater to India’s tech-savvy audience.”
Mercedes-Benz CLS 250 CDI Coupe:
Mercedes CLS 250 CDI Engine:
The new CLS 250 CDI is powered by a 2143cc 4 cylinder in-line engine with a maximum power of 204 hp and peak torque of 500 Nm; which can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 7.5 seconds. The common-rail diesel engine has been refined with increased injection pressure of up to 2000 bar, optimised combustion chambers, and precisely controlled piezo injectors. It is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission equipped with two driving modes ‘Economy’ and ‘Sport’ & peddle shifters.

Mercedes E400 Cabriolet Engine:
The new E400 Cabriolet is powered by a 3.0L turbocharged V6 petrol engine with a maximum power of 333 hp and peak torque of 480 Nm; which can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h. It is also mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission equipped with two driving modes ‘Economy’ and ‘Sport’. The car comes with paddle shifts, to be used in the Sport mode.
