New Mercedes C220 CDI: Want to know how much value does it offer…??
The Mercedes Benz C-Class is back with diesel. Mercedes Benz India has brought in the diesel version of its charismatic C-Class – the C220 CDI; an eagerly awaited luxury car among enthusiasts. MB India launched the New C220 diesel in India on 12th February 2015. The new Mercedes C220 diesel is of the same size of its petrol sibling C200, which was launched in November 2014.
New Mercedes C220 CDI Price:
The New Mercedes C220 CDI is available at starting price of to Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2015 C-Class diesel is available in two variants – the ‘Style’ priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and the ‘Avantgarde’ priced at Rs 42.9 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The new C220 diesel will only be available as ‘Completely Built Unit’ (CBU); as of now. Mercedes also launched another variant of the C200 (petrol) the ‘C200 Avangarde’. The new ‘C200 Avantgarde’ (CKD) is priced at Rs. 40.90 lakh (prices ex-showroom Delhi) and is now available for sales in dealerships across the country.
“With the launch of the C220 CDI we now present the complete portfolio of the new generation C-Class to our Indian customers,” Mercedes-Benz India managing director & CEO, Eberhard Kern said.
New Mercedes C220 CDI Engine & Economy:
The new Mercedes C220 diesel gets a powerful and even more fuel-efficient 2143cc In-line four-cylinder diesel engine. This common-rail diesel engine produces 125 kW at 3000-4200 rpm and 400Nm of torque 1400-2800 rpm, which is highest in the segment.
The engine is mated to a new 7-speed G-TRONIC PLUS transmission with AGILITY SELECT – 5 driving modes to select from such as Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. Just almost in same time as its sibling C200 does, the new C220 CDI can race from a stand-still to 100 Km/h in mere 7.4 seconds and can hit a limited top-speed of 233 KM/h. The car also gives segment leading mileage of 19.27 Kmpl, according to Mercedes Benz.
New Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI Exteriors:
The new C220 CDI is exactly same in size as its sibling C200, except for the kerb weight – which is 110 kg higher. The car also has a new suspension with a higher ground clearance; specifically designed for Indian roads. The new C220 diesel’s front end features a ‘brand-typical’ three-dimensional radiator grille and prominent headlamp contours, which outline the ‘face’ of the new car. The AVANTGARDE’s exterior design includes the sports grille with twin louvers, which showcases the car’s powerful and dynamic stance. The variant ‘Style’ gets 16” alloy wheels, whereas the ‘Avantgarge’ gets 17” alloy.
