The German auto-giant Mercedes Benz has finally introduced the much awaited Diesel version of its flagship luxury saloon S-Class- the new S-Class 350CDI. The launch of this engineering masterpiece took place in the state of art ‘Centre of Excellence’ situated in the company premises at Chakan, Pune on 5th June 2014. In addition to this launch, Mercedes Benz India has also announced local manufacturing of new S-Class 350CDI and with this move the company hopes to cater to the overwhelming demand of S-class cost effectively. “We are confident that with the manufacturing of the new S-Class 350CDI in India, we will be able to create a new benchmark and also meet the rising demand for the car in India” commented Mr. Eberhard Kern, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
Under the hood of new S-Class 350CDI, lies the characteristic 3 litre V6 engine which is coupled to 7G-TRONIC PLUS 7 speed automatic transmission. The power output of 190 kW @ 3600 rpm and a torque output of 620Nm @ 1600-2400 rpm are capable of taking this vehicle from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 6.8 seconds. Eye-catchy exterior design, superb interior and lots of safety features like ESP, eight airbags, Adaptive Brakes with HOLD function etc. are a few of the many distinguishing features of new S-Class 350CDI.
