Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automotive manufacturer, is celebrating the new year with the launch of Maruti Suzuki Ignis. The Ignis is a compact SUV and will directly compete with Mahindra KUV100. Thus, with this launch, Maruti is looking to secure a major share in the segment.
Design Overview of Maruti Suzuki Ignis:
Ignis is very compact with 3700 mm length and 1595 mm height. The front grill with chrome accents looks stunning. LED projector headlamps and accompanying DRLs add more to the beauty. Furthermore, the body has no sharp edges which ensures better aerodynamic performance.
Dual-tone dashboard makes interiors more soothing and fresh. In addition, meter accent lighting, headlamp leveller and tachometer are some of the features provided inside. The chrome accents on AC louvers improve aesthetics.
Specifications and Other Features of Maruti Suzuki Ignis:
Maruti Suzuki Ignis is available in both VVT petrol and DDiS diesel versions. The petrol engine is 1197 cc producing 61 kW of power and 113 Nm of torque. The diesel variant is 1248 cc producing 55.2 kW of power and 190 Nm of torque.
The transmission of Ignis is of Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) type with 5 gears. The Electric Power Steering (EPAS) comes standard. Kerb Weight varies from 825 kg to 960 kg according to the variant. According to the manufacturer, fuel efficiency of petrol variant is 20.89 kmpl while that of Diesel is 26.80 kmpl.
Steering mounted audio controls, Suzuki SLDA remote app and smart play will give excellent audio performance. Remote keyless entry and push start functionalities provide convenience. Similarly, Electronic folding ORVM are also provided in top two variants.
