Maruti calls back more than one lakh three thousand vehicles

On 11th April 2014, India’s largest carmaker ‘Maruti Suzuki’ has announced recall of some its popular models i.e. Ertiga, Swift and Dzire that are manufactured between 12th November 2013 to 4th February 2014 to replace the defective fuel filler neck.

The total count of affected vehicles sums to 1,03,311 which comprises of 42,481 units of Dzire, 47,237 units of Swift and 13,593 units of Ertiga.

In clarifying the cause of recall, company says that faulty filler neck could lead to fuel smell in cabin or fuel leakage in extreme cases if tank is topped up full upto the filler cap.

The company has instructed the dealers to contact the respective owners and replace the part free of cost. Vehicle owners can also check on the company website if their vehicle is in the affected batch by providing the chassis number of the vehicle.
