Mahindra NuvoSport: Another Sub-4 meter SUV from Mahindra
Mahindra is on the launching spree and wants to offer an SUV in the entire price range, starting from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh; which includes its Ssangyong Rexton range. The latest entrant to this list is Mahindra NuvoSport priced at Rs. 7.35 Lakh (Ex-showroom Thane). Mahindra NuvoSport will replace Mahindra Quanto; which failed to impress buyers since its launch 2 years ago.
The NuvoSport, as named by Mahindra, is completely out of its convention of naming cars; which end with an ‘O’ like XUV 500, TUV 300 and KUV 100. However; the NuvoSport, also dubbed as Quanto facelift, is built on Scorpio’s platform and is a completely new car. The car comes with a range of upgrades besides a completely revamped design and new features.
NuvoSport Engine & Transmission:
The NuvoSport is powered by a 1.5 L mHawk100 diesel engine, delivering 100 bhp power at 3750rpm and 240 Nm torque at 1600-2800rpm. The car is equipped with two driving modes – Power & Eco. In Eco mode, the power output is reduced to 71.6 bhp; whereas torque is reduced to 180 Nm. The power is transmitted to wheels thru’ 5-speed manual gear box. An optional 5-speed AMT is also available on two variants N6 AMT & N8 AMT. The NuvoSport delivers a fuel efficiency of 17.45 Km/L as claimed by Mahindra.
Features & Accessories:
Mahindra NuvoSport is available in 7-seater (5+2) option. The car features horde of latest technology; which includes a Kenwood music system, touch-screen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, cruise control, driver information system, Mahindra micro-hybrid system, steering-mounted audio controls, reverse parking camera and 60:40 split rear seats that recline. For safety, the car is equipped with options such as Dual airbags and ABS with EBD, besides optional seat belt with height adjuster, keyless entry, engine immobiliser and side intrusion beam.

The new NuvoSport is being offered in 6 colour options – Molten Red, Rust Orange, Regal Blue, Diamond White, Fiery Black, Mist Silver.
