Mahindra brings cloud based services for its products
The first of its kind in India!
India's UV maker and Technology giant Mahindra seems to have recognised the need of the future very well, and that too, well ahead of its competitors. The company recently launched a cloud-based, technology platform called DiGiSENSE for its customers. Thus, Mahindra became first automotive brand in India to support its products thru’ the cloud-technology. Mahindra claims that this technology will enhance the productivity of vehicle owners / users as it will open up a whole new dimension to the experience of vehicle ownership. "With the introduction of DiGiSENSE, we have become the first OEM to introduce a connected vehicle technology in our small commercial vehicles, Jeeto and Imperio, for the utmost convenience of the customers," M&M President & Chief Executive (Automotive) Pravin Shah said.
Currently, Mahindra offers DiGiSENSE for 'Jeeto' and 'Imperio' - two of its small commercial vehicles. Additionally, Mahindra provides this service for 'Arjun Novo' tractor, 'Blazo' heavy commercial vehicle and 'Earthmaster' construction machinery as well. Besides, the company is also planning to implement this technology across its entire product line-up ranging from passenger vehicles to farm equipments.
What is Mahindra DiGiSENSE?
DiGiSENSE, stands for Digitally Enabled Sensing, is a kind of technology of that is used in connected vehicles. It is based on an open-architecture platform and Mahindra will upgrade it regularly. This platform will empower its customers, dealers and service teams by giving them access to the vital information about their vehicles remotely and on real-time basis. It can diagnose the engine faults remotely and also provide breakdown assistance for the affected vehicle. Thus, it will help to improve the productivity of the operator and save costs.
Mahindra claims to have created an ecosystem in partnership with all the stakeholders under this project. They include a cloud service provider, a map provider, a telecom network provider alongwith a hardware manufacturer and other third parties. In addition, with the help of this 24x7 knowledge base, its users can get easy access to all the information thru' an App which is available on Google Play.

How much DiGiSENSE subscription costs?
DiGiSENSE is a subscription-based and optional service available at an affordable price. On Jeeto (X716 BS4), it costs Rs. 5,000 whereas on Imperio (SC VX and DC VX), it costs Rs. 6,000. This price is in addition to the respective vehicle’s price. Apart from this, Mahindra is also offering 1-year free subscription on these two models to promote this platform. With launch of such 'Ahead of Time' platform, Mahindra will certainly surge ahead of its competition in the Digital India.
