KTM Sport Motorcycle AG, an Austrian sport motorcycle manufacturer, recently unveiled KTM RC390 & RC200 2017 in India. KTM is known worldwide for its dirt bikes. Now, KTM is positioning itself strongly in race track motorcycles segment. With advent of RC series and with RC cup, KTM is proving itself on race tracks.

KTM RC390 & RC200 2017: What is new Inside Out?

Comparatively, KTM RC390 is more updated as it gets cosmetic as well as mechanical changes while the RC200 gets only cosmetic updates. RC390 now displays improved graphics and it also has all new wide mirrors. Furthermore, new seats are ergonomically better.

New Seats

In new look, KTM RC200 gets new graphics. The seat also gets more padding, hence will be more comfortable compared to previous version. RC200 delivers the same amount of power (25 PS) and torque (19.2 Nm). Besides these, RC200 2017 remains mechanically unchanged.

Mechanical upgrades as you wanted in KTM RC390:

KTM has improved RC390 mechanically and now it complies with BS-IV emission norms. In order to comply with BS-IV standards, KTM has removed the underbelly exhaust. Instead, now the bike gets standard side slung exhaust system. Addition of the new exhaust system gives an additional 1 Nm of torque and thus new torque figure stands at 36 Nm while the power remains the same i.e 44 Hp.

The updated RC 390 also comes with ride by wire technology as standard. Ride by wire gives a remarkable throttle response without compromising efficiency. The slipper clutch is also a standard feature. The clutch and brake levers are now adjustable as a result the rider can customize its setting in accordance with his/her convenience.

The bigger 320 mm front disc brakes provide stunning ability to stop the bike. They also enhance safety when used along with ABS. In addition, KTM has introduced controlled area network which enhances the communication between on-board devices there by eliminating the use of cables and wires.

With all these features, the motorcycle is now heavier by almost 16.5 kg. However, these updates will certainly bring superior performance!
