KTM Duke 790, nicknamed Scalpel, Launched In India

KTM recently launched its much-awaited KTM Duke 790 naked sports bike in India. The motorcycle carries a price-tag of Rs 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s the first middleweight naked sports from KTM. In India, the new KTM Duke 790 will be pitted against Kawasaki Ninja Z900, Ducati Monster 797, and Triumph Street Triple 765. The bookings for the new 790 Duke is now open. However, for now, it will only be available in 9 major cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Surat, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Guwahati.

Engine and Power:

The KTM Duke 790 gets its power from a liquid cooled, 798 cc, parallel-twin-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum of 105ps (103hp) at 9,000 rpm and delivers a peak torque 87Nm at 8,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also gets a quick shifter that allows slick, clutch-less up and downshifts.

Aesthetically, KTM Duke 790 resembles the latest 390 Duke. However, the former has larger dimensions, a different frame, wheels, exhaust, and tail-section. It features a sharp design and aggressive stance which is the trademark of the Duke series. KTM Duke 790 also gets LED headlamp, LED taillamp and color TFT instrument console that displays all the vital stats of the motorcycle.
