Street Bikes Indian FTR 1200S & 1200S Race Replica Launched in India
Indian Motorcycles recently launched Indian FTR 1200S & 1200S Race Replica models in India with prices starting at Rs. 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the FTR 1200S is Rs 15.99 lakh while for FTR 1200S Race Replica the price stands at Rs 17.99 lakh. However, these prices are ex-showroom, India. Just like all other models, the company intends to bring the FTR 1200 series to India thru’ CBU route.
FTR 1200S is a street tracker & will get two variants – Standard FTR 1200S and FTR 1200S Race Replica. Indian FTR 1200S will take on the popular premium brand Ducati Diavel 1260. The bookings are already open while deliveries will begin next month. Interested buyers can book the motorcycles at Indian dealerships with a token amount of Rs 2 lakh.
Engine & Power:
The 1200S gets a new liquid-cooled 1,203cc V-twin motor. The engine is based on the Indian Scout’s engine. However, it gets nearly 80% new parts and runs a higher compression ratio. This motor makes 120 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which transmits the power to rear wheel thru’ chain.
Indian FTR 1200: Features
Furthermore, the FTR 1200S is designed for flat track racing which characterizes its flat-track bike styling. FTR 1200S gets its inspiration from Indian’s championship-winning FTR 750 flat-track race bike. Besides, the FTR 1200S gets numerous premium features. They include Bosch stability control with a six-axis inertial sensor along with lean-sensitive traction control and ABS.
Indian Motorcycle is very popular for its cruisers. However, FTR 1200S is its first offering which is not an absolute cruiser. It is considerably lighter as compared to other Indian motorcycles. Indian FTR 1200S is the first motorcycle featuring a brand new platform on which the company will develop other new models. The company could launch street-fighter and adventure tourer models based on the FTR 1200 in the coming years.
Equipment:
In addition, Indian FTR 1200S comes with lots of features. Some of them include a 4.3-inch LCD touch-screen with Bluetooth connectivity. There’s a full LED headlamp of the offer. The motorcycle also comes with a USB charging port as also the cruise-control. The motorcycle also gets fully adjustable front & rear suspension. Besides, there are three riding modes (Sport, Standard, and Rain) along with different throttle response and traction control intervention levels.
