About Hyundai Verna 2017:
Hyundai Motor India Limited recently launched its latest offering – the Hyundai Verna 2017. It has a starting price of Rs. 7.99 Lakh for petrol version and Rs. 9.19 Lakh for diesel version (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, this price applies for the first 20,000 customers in India according to Hyundai. After this, the company will revise its price and the Verna 2017 could become more expensive. According to the car-maker, the Hyundai Verna 2017 gets a host of new features as compared to the outgoing model.
Hyundai Verna 2017 Aesthetics:
The new Hyundai Verna 2017 uses the K2 platform and takes design cues from its elder sibling – Hyundai Elantra. The Verna 2017 is a car which offers a few cosmetic & mechanical changes. The fifth-gen car has new design features which include cornering head-lights, projector fog lamps, LED tail lamps and a cascading front grille.
On the exterior, the Verna 2017 gets the projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. Hyundai also increased the length, wheelbase and boot space of the car. However, the height of Verna 2017 remains the same. The car also gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy-wheels which enhance its looks.
Hyundai Verna 2017 Engines & Transmission:
The Verna 2017 offers the same two engine options. They are either 1.6-litre Gamma Dual VTVT petrol engine that churns out 123 PS of power and 15.4 kg-m torque or a 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel engine that pumps out 128 PS of power and 26.5 kg-m torque. Depending upon the variant, they use either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
According to Hyundai, the new drive-train provides high fuel efficiency. Hyundai claims the fuel efficiency of petrol automatic is 15.92 km/l while that of petrol manual is 17.70 km/l. The diesel automatic gives the economy of 21.02 km/l and diesel manual gives 24.75 km/l.
