In order to further catch hold of the Indian market, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) – country’s second largest vehicle manufacturer; introduced a new hatch called Elite i20 on 11th August 2014 in an event organized in New Delhi.
“The Elite i20 will be a trendsetter model reflecting Hyundai’s Modern Premium brand direction and will fuel Hyundai’s growth in India” said Mr.B S Seo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL while addressing the media at the launch event.
Elite i20 reveals Hyundai’s unmatched ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy which is reflected in the zestful dynamic look of the car. The changes in Elite i20 encompass a wide range from exterior design to power-train enhancement compared to its predecessor.
The petrol Elite i20 is powered by 1.2 Litre Kappa Dual VTVT engine producing 83PS of power & 11.7 kgm of maximum torque at 6000 and 4000 rpm respectively. On the other hand, the diesel Elite i20 gets its power from 1.4 Litre U2 CRDi engine generating 90 PS @ 4000 rpm and torque of 22.4 kgm @ 1500-2750 rpm. As claimed by Hyundai, both these engines have a proven record for durability, reliability and performance. The petrol engine is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission while the Diesel engine is coupled to a 6 speed manual transmission.
Well engineered power-train and aerodynamically sound body design allow Elite i20 to deliver an impressive fuel economy of 18.60 kmpl for petrol version and 22.54 kmpl for Diesel version.
Not to make any compromise with passenger safety, Hyundai has loaded this car with a lot of safety features like ABS, front dual Airbags, Headlamp escort function and many more. To further delight the customers, Elite i20 is accoutred with convenience features like Multi functional tilt & telescopic steering wheel, Rear AC vents, parcel tray, auto foldable electric mirrors etc.
Pristine Blue, Stardust, Red Passion, Midas Gold, Sleek Silver, Mystic Blue and Polar White are the seven different exciting options available on Elite i20.
