Hyundai i20 Active

Hyundai i20 Active Crossover Launched in India:

Hyundai has launched its first crossover in India – the i20 Active in the price range of Rs. 6.38 lakh – Rs. 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Being a crossover, Hyundai has given the i20 Active more of an SUV looks with matching sporty interiors. The i20 Active also gets modified rear suspension with increased ground clearance, bigger 16” alloy wheels to encounter the bad & bumpy roads effectively.

Hyundai i20 Active Engine:

The i20 Active crossover inherits its power-train from its predecessor – the Hyundai’s i20 hatchback.The Hyundai i20 Active gets its power from the same engines of that of the i20. 1.2L Kappa DOHC with Dual VTVT petrol engine that delivers 83ps power & peak torque of 11.7 kgm. The petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.4L U2 CRDi DOHC engine which produces 90 ps power and 22.4 kgm of torque gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new i20 Active will compete with its rivals like Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avvantura & VW Polo Cross.

Hyundai i20 Active Styling:

The new i20 Active styling cues display some cosmetic updates such as the front air-dam with two-tone bumper, new skid plate on the front fascia, a new bumper with large fog lamps, swept-back projector head-lamps with LED daytime running lights (DRL) & chrome-coated door handles etc.; which enhances its looks. On the inside, it gets sporty dual-tone interiors – a combination of orange & black or aqua blue & black, illuminated power window switches, aluminium-coated pedals and a coloured gear-knob

The rear end of i20 Active appears quite different with a silver skid plate and new bumper with round reflectors. The blackened plastic cladding on wheel arches and around the car, bigger 16” diamond-cut alloy wheels, tail-gate spoiler with stop-lamp and roof rails give the i20 Active typical crossover looks. Hyundai has also increased the ground clearance of i20 Active to 190mm – a good 20mm higher than the normal i20.
