Honda improves 7 seater mobility with Compact MPV Honda Mobilio

Compact MPV Honda Mobilio:

Honda is all set to launch its first 7 seater Compact MPV Honda Mobilio in the very niche 'Family MPV' segment. Mobilio, ‘The Stylish 7 Seater’ – that’s how Honda wants to promote it; is due for its Indian debut on 23rd July and is aimed to cater the ‘extended-family-and-friends-transport’ in 7 seater segment recently popularised by Maruti-Suzuki Ertiga. Although Honda has not disclosed its price yet; it is speculated to be in the range of Rs. 7 Lacs to Rs. 9 Lacs.

Honda Mobilio engine:

The Mobilio Petrol may get its power from proven 1.5-litre i-VTEC SOHC Petrol engine producing a peak power of 118 bhp. The Mobilio Diesel will have the intelligent 1.5-litre i-DTEC DOHC engine producing 100 PS of sheer power combined with the average of 24.2 km/L. Both the versions are likely to be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

The Mobilio gets its styling clues from its siblings Brio and Amaze. The headlights resemble with the Brio while the bonnet and the front grill look to be derived from the Amaze. The Mobilio also gets the ‘army-men-styled-big-and-thick’ chrome Moustache; similar to its elder sibling the New City as a birth-mark. The Mobilio’s rear however shows no presence of chrome and looks a tad simple.

Honda Mobilio Features:

The most attractive part of the Mobilio is its ability to increase its space by adjusting the second and third row seats. Its decent luggage capacity of 223 litres can be further transformed into a large storage space of 520 litres by folding the third row. The middle seat features a 60:40 split which enables easy ingress and egress to the third row seats. Honda has carved out more cabin space in Mobilio making it more spacious - thanks to an extended wheel-base of 2650 mm; the longest among all Honda cars - the Brio, Amaze and even the New City.

With this versatile Mobilio, within this niche ‘Compact / Family MPV’ segment, Honda will challenge Maruti-Suzuki Ertiga and to some extent Mahindra Quanto; which are the only two who could truly qualify in this segment.
