After trying the MPV segment with not-so-successful Mobilio, Honda Cars India Ltd. has brought its new compact SUV Honda BR-V to India. Honda BR-V is also the first seven-seater vehicle being offered in the segment. The BR-V will take on Hyundai Creta & Renault Duster in this fast-growing segment.
What’s hot in Honda BR-V?
The car is equipped with dual air-bags across all variants, along with an array of other safety features. In a segment first, the CVT variant provides ‘Paddle Shift’ option which is operated using the ‘paddle switches’ located on the steering wheel. It provides an ease of an automatic and driving thrill of a manual transmission. The new Honda BR-V 2015 also has class-leading ground clearance of 210 mm and wheelbase of 2662 mm, giving it a spacious cabin & room for the third row. BR-V has a boot space of 223 litres, which can be further enhanced to 691 litres when the third row is folded.
BR-V Engines & Mileage:
The BR-V is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5L i-VTEC Petrol Engine delivers maximum power of 119 PS@ 6,600 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm @4,600 rpm. It delivers an economy of 15.4 km/L with manual transmission and 16 km/L with CVT respectively, as claimed by Honda. The BR-V Diesel 1.5L i-DTEC delivers maximum power of 100PS@3600rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm@1750 rpm. It delivers an excellent mileage of 21.9km/L, as claimed by Honda.

The car is available in 9 variants – 5 in petrol & 4 in diesel versions respectively, giving a lot of options to prospective buyers.
Honda BR-V Prices:
Honda has priced the petrol variants between Rs. 8.75 lakh and Rs. 11.99 lakh, whereas the diesel variants between Rs. 9.99 lakh and Rs.12.90 lakh (all ex-showroom, Delhi).
