In order to further extend the success story of FZ series bikes in India, Yamaha Motor India unveiled two more commuter bikes viz. FZ version 2.0 & FZ-S version 2.0 at a grand launch function held in Delhi on 30th June 2014. Being built on Yamaha’s revolutionary ‘Blue core’ concept, these bikes are expected to offer superb overall performance thereby triggering the sales figure.
While praising FZ series at the launch event, Mr Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said “The FZ series has been a stellar performer ever since its launch in 2008. Armed with the next generation ‘Blue Core’ engine concept, the new models are bound to offer a power-packed performance with improved fuel efficiency.” He also asserted that the sporty look and aggressive styling of these bikes will appeal the young generation.
At the heart of these bikes, is a newly designed air cooled, single cylinder 149cc engine equipped with fuel injection system which puts out 9.7kW of power @ 8000 rpm and a torque of 12.8Nm @6000 rpm. A unique combination of fuel injection system and the lightest chassis in class have helped FZ version 2.0 & FZ-S version 2.0 achieve the class leading acceleration and improved fuel economy.
The ‘Simple, Stylish and Sporty’ colour options available on FZ version 2.0 are Red and Black; while FZ-S version 2.0 features ‘Street, Cyber and Sporty’ colours like Astral Blue, Moonwalk White, Cyber Green & Molten Orange. The ex-showroom Delhi prices of FZ version 2.0 & FZ-S version 2.0 are Rs. 76,250 and Rs. 78,250 respectively.
