Ford India has announced recall of Ford EcoSport:
Ford India has announced to recall its flagship mini-SUV the Ford EcoSport according to Reuters. Ford India will recall over 20,700 cars in India to rectify concerns about fuel and vapour line corrosion in the EcoSport. The affected vehicles are from the manufacturing unit of Ford India’s Chennai plant, produced between Jan – 2013 and Sept – 2014. The customers who purchased Ford Ecosport which is made during this period shall be contacted by the company.
Ford will also check the vehicles for reorienting wiring harness related to the correct deployment of side airbags. Ford India said, “The company will also check the vehicles for re-orienting wiring harness related to the correct deployment of side airbags.” This recall comes at the backdrop of another recall of 3000 units of its popular model Ford Fiesta recently for possible fault in glow-plug control module of its diesel engine.
