The German luxury car maker BMW has launched a new version of its sedan – the BMW 520d M sport. It belongs to BMW’s legendary 5 series which represents the classy sedans. With the launch of 520d M sport, BMW hopes to regain top spot in the market. This vehicle is priced at 54 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Local production has helped BMW to maintain price competitiveness.

The BMW TwinPower turbo engine powers the new 520d M Sport. BMW’s efficient dynamics technology guarantees more performance with less emissions. This Diesel engine is a 4 cylinder, 1995cc capacity that produces 190 Hp i.e.140 kw. It takes only 7.7 seconds to go from 0-100 kmph and yet delivers a mileage of 18.48 Km/L, as claimed by BMW. The 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle-shifters ensures that almost all the power is available on the fly to attain a top speed of 233 km/h.
The sedan’s exteriors comprise of M badges, LED Headlamps, sport bumpers, double-spoke alloy wheels and side skirts. In addition, 520d M offers an aerodynamic package as a standard fitment. Electrically adjustable front seats, leather upholstery and multi-function steering wheel are some of the distinguishing interior features. The BMW 520d M Sport comes with four driving modes, which are eco, pro, comfort and sport. To improve the efficiency further, BMW has provided some advanced features such as auto start-stop and brake energy regeneration.
Furthermore, 520d M Sport has a multi-function 10 inch display with BMW i-drive which assists driver by providing the necessary information. Built-in BMW apps are also available. Navigation system includes 3D maps and GPS. With the help of a rear view camera and park distance control, parking could be done in a breeze.
As far as safety is concerned, this car is equipped with many systems like Anti lock braking system (ABS), 6 airbags, Dynamic traction control, Hill descent control, Dynamic stability control, cornering brake control, vehicle immobilizer, side impact protection and a crash sensor.
