BMW Motorrad Launches 2019 BMW S 1000 RR With 3 Variants:
BMW Motorrad recently launched its superbike - 2019 BMW S 1000 RR in India. The standard version costs Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the Pro and Pro M Sport variants cost Rs 20.95 lakh and Rs 22.95 lakh respectively. Besides, the new bike is costlier by Rs 45,000 as compared to the earlier model.
Furthermore, the superbike, dubbed as the 'Double R', will come to India under the CBU (completely built-up) route. The booking for the motorcycles is already open at BMW Motorrad dealerships in India. In the superbikes segment, S 1000 RR will compete with Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Ducati Panigale V4, Yamaha R1, and Honda CBR1000RR.
Furthermore, a completely new chassis and suspension give the 'Double R' a lower kerb-weight. The superbike also gets new lights, design besides a new engine with BMW ShiftCam technology. The motorcycle also gets the ‘M package’. 2019 BMW S 1000 RR offers two color options: ‘Racing Red’ and ‘Light White/Lupin Blue Metallic/Racing Red’. Besides, the M-package offers features such as M Sport seat, the M chassis kit, carbon fiber wheels, and M lightweight battery. In contrast, the Dynamic package offers advanced features such as the newest generation of the electronic Dynamic Damping Control system, heated grips and cruise control functions.
BMW S 1000 RR Engine & Power:
2019 BMW S 1000 RR gets its power from a newly developed 999cc, 4-cylinder, in-line engine. This engine produces 207hp at 13,500rpm and is 4 kgs lighter than the previous generation. However, the peak torque comes at 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm while it maintains the torque curve of at least 100 Nm over a range of 5,500 to 14,500 rpm. Furthermore, the engine also comes with the company's latest ShiftCam Technology. It provides additional power across the entire engine speed range, reduced fuel consumption levels. It also has lower emission and optimized running smoothness and refinement.
Suspension & Brakes:
Furthermore, 2019 BMW S 1000 RR has a new layout for the chassis. However, the suspension is lighter than the earlier model. The motorcycle features a Flex-Frame design. BMW claims that it offers optimum interplay between the frame design and the engine as a load-bearing element. Additionally, it improves the aerodynamics of the motorcycle and helps keep the weight low.
Besides, the S 1000 RR comes with ABS Pro (Anti-lock Braking System), DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and DTC Wheelie Function as standard. The optional DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) adjusts the chassis optimally to any riding condition within milliseconds.
Furthermore, 2019 BMW S 1000 RR features four riding modes - ‘Rain’, ‘Road’, ‘Dynamic’ and ‘Race’ as standard. The Riding Modes Pro option offers an additional three riding modes (i.e. Race Pro 1-3) which are easily programmable. Besides, these modes allow personal adaptation of control functions such as Engine (throttle), Engine Brake, Traction Control, Wheelie-Control, ABS and ABS Pro. Also, the ‘Pro Modes’ offers the 'Launch Control' feature.
Furthermore, 2019 BMW S 1000 RR offers a Multifunctional instrument panel & 6.5" TFT display. It is a benchmark in the superbike segment. The Pure Ride screen displays three Core Ride screens that show other vital information. BMW Motorrad multi-controller gives the rider quick access to bike and connectivity functions. Besides, the phone and media functions can be used without installing the app.
