Kawasaki brings its first cruiser bike to India; will take on Harley Davidson:
Kawasaki Motors India recently launched the 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan S cruiser at Rs 5.44 lakh (ex-showroom). It is Kawasaki’s first cruiser in India. The Vulcan S will directly take on the segment leader Harley Davidson Street 750 in the entry-level cruiser segment.

2018 Kawasaki Vulcan S Engine and Power:
The cruiser bike is powered by a 650cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with fuel injection. It delivers 63PS at 7,500rpm and 64Nm at 6,500rpm and mates to a six-speed gearbox. Kawasaki claims that the fuel injected motor is tuned to deliver smooth performance in the low and mid-range that the cruisers need.
The Kawasaki Vulcan S has non-traditional looks. It features low-slung profile, alloy wheels, and an off-set mono-shock. The most prominent feature of the 2018 Vulcan S is the ‘Ergo Fit’. It enables the rider to adjust the handle, foot-pegs, and seat for an optimal riding position. It also gets an inverted triangle headlamp, a tight-fit rear fender beside unique wheel design and powerful clean-cut under-engine muffler.
2018 Kawasaki Vulcan S Features:
According to Kawasaki, the Vulcan S suits all the riders including the newbies. The Vulcan S features low seat height and adjustable clutch & brake levers. Thus, making it suitable for all types of riders. A 300mm disc at the front and a 250mm disc at the rear handle the braking duties while the ABS is standard.

Speaking at the launch, the managing director of India Kawasaki Motor, Yutaka Yamashita said “After our sports bikes, tourer bikes, naked bikes, and off-road bikes settled in India, we felt it was a right time for us to bring this cruiser in the market. There cannot be a better way to start a new year 2018 by introduction of our worldwide known Vulcan brand.”

Furthermore, bookings for the Vulcan S are now open at all Kawasaki dealerships in India. Kawasaki said that it will put the Vulcan S on display at the 2018 Auto Expo for the public who wish to see the bike. Kawasaki will assemble the Vulcan S at the company’s Pune Chakan plant. It will take on the likes of Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the Hyosung Aquila Pro in the entry-level premium cruiser motorcycle segment.
